Our story started on a family trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. One afternoon, while driving along the coast, we spotted a roadside food truck called Manuela's Malasadas. We decided to pull over and try something we had never tasted before. That quick stop turned into a moment we’ll never forget.

The malasadas were hands down the best donuts we had ever had — golden and crisp on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside, and coated in just the right amount of sugar. After that first bite, we looked at each other and said, “Colorado needs this.” What started as a simple vacation treat quickly turned into a business idea we couldn’t shake.

When we came home, we got to work. We learned how to make authentic malasadas and how to run a food truck. That is how Hawaiian Donut Company came to be! Today, we’re proud to bring a little bit of Hawaii and island life to Colorado — One Fresh, Warm Malasada At A Time.
